McDOT 2001-2005 9-digit DOT Codes:
This Job Specific DOT Code number can be used to locate the standard
definition, worker trait requirements, trait-element requirements and crosswalk
classification codes for each specific job in the McCroskey 6th
Edition Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT, N=12,975) - (McDOT 6.0-2005;
McCroskey, 2005). All 12,975 McDOT 2003 Codes were based on the 12,741,
job-specific, 9-digit DOT Codes from the 1991 US 4th Edition DOT (US
DOL, 1991). O*NET Means Data Profiles were data mined and fused with DOT Job
Analysis Data Profiles to update the 12,761 McDOT Occupations in the McDOT
1998-2001 5th Edition DOT - Extended Dataset Edition (McCroskey,
2001) and 200 new Occupations added to the McDOT 6th Editions (McDOT
Versions 6.0-2005; McCroskey, 2005).
The first three
digits of each McDOT Code Number indicate the Occupational Group to which the
job belongs. There are a total of 560 Occupational Groups, which are classified
into 82 Occupational Divisions (first two digits), which are further classified
into 10 broad Occupational Categories (first digit). Note: Category 2 is
subdivided into two sub-categories, Category 2a & 2b).
